Help for Children & Young People

Refuge

In refuge there are workers that children and young people can talk to, who will help and support them work through trauma and individual issues, participate in fun activities, and go on trips. All children and young people living in the refuge have a key worker.

Follow on

When children and young people are leaving the refuge with mum, support continues. We will come and see children and young people at home, at school or at another safe place.

Crisis / Outreach

This service is available to children and young people in immediate need of support who have experienced domestic abuse, forced marriage or who are living in a difficult situation at home. We provide one to one practical and emotional support, assist with child protection issues, cultural oppression and accompany children and young people to court and appointments.

Advocacy Service

A designated children’s worker will support children and young people to ensure their voices are heard.  We provide bilingual support.  We participate in a range of voluntary and statutory sector meetings to ensure that the views of the children and young people we support are represented.  We can accompany children and young people to court and meetings.  Listening and understanding the needs of children and young people is at the heart of our service which in turn allows us to positively respond to any identified needs.
